HAVE FUN  |  MAKE FRIENDS  |  GROW FAITH

OUR MISSION:

HAVE FUN

You could say that having fun is an unnecessary luxury; that is not important to a persons spiritual development. When you think about it, however, fun is essential to our evangelical outreach. Fun is one of the main reasons kids will attend anything and so we place an emphasis on fun and creating memorable experiences for campers. In addition, we desire to show campers that it is possible to have fun and follow Jesus at the same time, something that the world doesn’t necessarily believe.

John 10:10 - The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy;

I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

Philipians 4:4 - Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

MAKE FRIENDS

Lost Timber uses fun experiences as a springboard for forming new friendships and strenthening existing friendships. It is our belief that lasting life-change happens within relationships. Friends are a foundational part of our faith. Friends hold us accountable, challenge us, and encourage us to continue on in our faith. Lost Timber strives to create spaces for relationships to abound.

Hebrews 12:1-3 - Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

Proverbs 27:17 - As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

GROW FAITH

All three points of our mission are critical to our ministry, but growing faith is the reason we have a ministry at all. We believe that God created mankind to be in a relationship with Him and we take the opportunity to share that with our campers every chance we get. From our speakers to our support staff, we expect everyone to be intentional and look for opportunities to talk about faith with campers and encourage them to walk with the Lord. We desire every camper to hear the life-changing message of the Gospel and have an opportunity to choose to follow Jesus.

Matthew 28:29-20a - Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.

Colossians 1:9-12 - For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.

Lost Timber Bible Camp exists to provide a Christ-centered, youth-oriented camp and retreat environment that encourages evangelism, spiritual growth and training in order to develop followers of Jesus that impact their home, school, church, community, and the world.

Our Vision
Our Values

We believe the camp experience offers a unique opportunity that doesn’t exist in a normal church or youth group setting. Campers are removed from their daily routines and associations and placed into a very positive setting where they can connect with other believers while playing games, worshipping and learning about God. We strive to lead campers into a new relationship with Christ and disciple young believers and help them strengthen their relationship with Christ.

We do this using the following model:

  • Small cabin groups and overall camp size to foster relationships

  • Activities designed to help campers and staff relate with each other

  • Free time to allow relationships and conversations to build organically

  • Worship sessions to unite us as a group of believers

  • Sound Biblical teaching to share the Gospel of Christ

  • Discussion groups to tackle real-world challenges that campers face all the time (older camps)

Lost Timber Bible Camp is about changing lives for the better. This can look different for each camper-realizing that we are all at different points in our journey. It is our prayer that God will continue to use Lost Timber and its staff to impact the lives of our campers. Out of our love for Jesus we passionately desire, as observed through decades of faithful ministry, to accomplish our mission by living out these values day in and day out.

"For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works,
which God prepared in advance for us to do." –Ephesians 2:10
